Meet Ms. Kenny!
My name is Valerie Kenny. I am the science teacher here at the Robert L. Craig school for grades six through eight. I am 39 years old. I graduated from Florida Tech in 1995 with a BA in science education. I taught in Florida for two years before moving to New Jersey in 1998. I have my Master's Degree in Technology Inclusion in the Classroom.
My hobbies include reading, walking, geocaching, coin collecting, and pop culture. I am an avid science geek, performing experiments at home on the weekends to satiate my curiosity. I love working with middle school students, and I look forward to a long and fulfilling career here at RLC!
We do many exciting experiments in my science classes, everything from ignition week (with the potato cannon) to mousetrap cars! Science is best learned by doing, not copying notes from the board. That would be boring for me, and I know it's boring for my students! Science is meant to be fun, and that's what we have in my classes.
