BIENVENIDOS A LA CLASE DE ESPANOL

Students at Robert L. Craig School begin their study of World Language from Grades 5 through 8. Each grade curriculum builds upon the previous year introducing new thematic vocabulary, conversational patterns, and successful activities. As the students progress in grades 5 through 8, they become more familiar with the language and gain more self confidence. This is demonstrated through the varied games, songs, activities, (both oral and written) and projects. With the introduction of the new text,"Como Te Va ", in grade 6, classes already have a basic understanding of the workings of a foreign language. By the end of Grade 8, students who have maintained a solid A/B grade average should be ready to enter Level 2 or second year -High School Spanish.

World Language classes are taught authentic and proficiency-based subject matter. When applicable, content mastered in Spanish may coordinate with other content areas, thus reinforcing the need to learn the real-life aspects of a foreign language.

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15 each year.
