Seventh Grade Math
7A and 7B students began the year with a study of positive and negative numbers. 7B played jeopardy!, followed the stock market for a week, and among other activities, looked at the game of golf and how it's scored. Each student was randomly given all 4 round scores of a US Open golfer. They then determined their final scores and lined up according to who came in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc..We then began our formal study of integers. Students are now exploring the topics of "order of operations" and "properties of math". During this time we continue to review basic skills.
7A has also completed a unit on integers in addition to a study of evaluating expressions, combining like terms, and absolute value.
Both classes have begun the "toothpick bridge" project, and the construction of their designs is coming along nicely.
