Eighth Grade
The 8B class began the year with a review and then a more in-depth study of equations. The class then learned about how to write very large and very small numbers in scientific notation. We also reviewed Venn diagrams and the practical ways in which they can be used.
Through a project, which students have almost completed, we continue to review skills previously learned. 8B has now begun a unit on inequalities and their uses in the real world.
We are also working on some election related topics, such as voting methods, and the history of the electoral college and how math was used by the founding fathers to develop the way in which electoral college votes are apportioned.
