Third graders have approached Readers Workshop with much enthusiasm. They have learned how to care for books, shop in the classroom library to select their just right books, and are doing a terrific job displaying good partnerships in reading.Students are also receiving instruction at their devopmental level in a multisensory approach. They have already made much progress learning about contractions and their list of red and sight words continues to grow. Grammatical concepts will not only include contractions, but also homonymns, alphabetizing, and suffixes. Students are really making gains and are reading more fluently each day.
