Second Graders have approached Readers Workshop with much enthusiasm. They have learned how to care for books, know their just right level, know how to book shop, can use good reading strategies and have learned what good partner reading looks like. Students are also making much progress in their multisensory program. Each student is placed in their developmental level in this program. They practice reading, spelling, and language development as well as the mechanics of written language.
Math:
Students are approaching the end of Chapter 2 where students explore basic fact strategies for subtraction such as counting back and using the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction.
