ATTENTION! IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS HAVE CHANGED!
In December 2007, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services have added additional immunization requirements for students, beginning September 2008.
1. STUDENTS IN PRE-K now need 1 dose of pneumococcal vaccine on or after their first birthday. If a student does not meet this requirement, they WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL in September 2008.
2. STUDENTS IN PRE-K need to have a yearly influenza (flu shot) vaccine, between September 1st and December 31, 2008, or they WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL on January 2, 2009. 3. STUDENTS ENTERING 6TH GRADE in September 2008 will need BOTH a Tdap (tetanus and pertussis booster) and a Meningococcal vaccine prior to September 2008. 6th Grade Students who do not recieve both of these vaccines WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM SCHOOL in September 2008.
SCHOOL DENTIST TO VISIT RLC
Dr. Friedman, DDS, will be making rounds on Wednesday April 23rd. he will visit grades Pre-K through 8 and inspect students for cavities and orthodontal needs. Referral letters will be mailed home if applicable.
SMILE NEW JERSEY! We have invited Mobile Dentists/Smile Programs to bring its on site preventive dental care services to our school because we know how important good oral health is to our children's overall general health.
The Mobile Dentists/Smile Programs team will set up a mini-dental office in our building and can provide dental examinations, cleanings, fluoride treatments, xrays and sealants (if necessary) for children who return the completed forms.
Mobile Dentists/Smile Programs can provide these services to families who need financial assistance and it has subsidized fees for those who choose to pay for the preventative care. NO CHILD IS EVER TURNED AWAY FROM MOBILE DENTISTS/SMILE PROGRAMS BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL NEED.
Forms will be sent home Thursday March 27th and need to be returned to school NO LATER than April 16th.
